MUUD Ring

Four things you can do without looking at anything.

A ring built for mental recovery rather than step counts. Turn it, press it, hear it, see it — an interaction model you can use with your hand in your pocket.

RENDERING · IN ACTIVE R&D

From structure to experience

Every part has a job you can feel.

MUUD Ring rendering: exterior labelling the fidget dial, action button, sound port and LED band; cutaway labelling haptics, optical sensor, battery, processor and titanium shell.

The interaction model

Six ways in. No screen.

The dial quantises into eight sectors with hysteresis, direction and velocity gating — so an idle fidget is never read as input. All of it is implemented and tested in firmware today.

  • 01

    TURN

    Fidget dial

Preview a Journey by rolling the bezel under your thumb.

  • 02

    PRESS

    Action button

Enter, pause, resume. One deliberate press, nothing unlocked.

  • 03

    HEAR

    Sound port

Short sound cues where a screen would be the wrong answer.

  • 04

    SEE

    LED band

Selection in colour. The ring's only display is light and rhythm.

  • 05

    FEEL

    Haptics

Tactile feedback that confirms without asking for attention.

  • 06

    SENSE

    Optical sensor

Proposed body context. Heart rate and SpO2 are design targets.

Engineering intent

The firmware is running. The hardware is what we are building toward.

Running today

  • 16 firmware modules, 25 test suites, ~3,900 lines
  • Built under -Werror -Wconversion
  • The full dial, button, LED and sound interaction model
  • Append-only offline queue with ACK-based sync
  • Nordic nRF5340 port — Cortex-M33, BLE 5.3, CryptoCell 312

What we intend to deliver

  • A titanium shell, for the production unit
  • Heart-rate and SpO2 sensing on the wearer’s hand
  • Battery life characterised through R&D
  • Five validation gates, each result published

This is the design we intend to realise once R&D concludes. Every gate result is published as it is measured.

Build transparency

Five validation gates. Every result published.

This is the road from rendering to production. As the ring clears each gate we publish the measured result against the published criterion.

The loop works without the ring.

MUUD App is free today and the Ring plugs into it when it ships. Start the loop now, and you will be first to know when the hardware clears its gates.

The MUUD Ring is a consumer wellness product in development. It is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, or to replace clinical care. Images on this page are renderings of the intended design; component materials and placement are design intent. Specifications described here are design targets from the engineering specification, not certified measurements; final specifications depend on testing. Heart-rate and SpO2 sensing are design targets. Availability is not a commitment.
